Peacocks Stay Home For Back To Back Contests

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Saint Peter's women's basketball team prepare for two consecutive contests as the Peacocks take on the Monmouth Hawks on Sunday, Dec. 7 as part of a double header with the men's team. And then on Wednesday, Dec. 10 the Peacocks will host the FDU Knights, tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Sunday and 6:00 pm ET on Wednesday. 

The Peacocks are coming off their first home loss of the season in a 43-65 battle against Army. Despite the record, Saint Peter's has found themselves a superstar in De'Naya Rippey, the sophomore currently leads the Peacocks in points, rebounds, steals, and minutes. In fact, Rippey currently ranks tenth in the MAAC in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game and is first in rebounds with 9.4. 

Other big headlines include Carys Roy currently ranked 14th in the conference in free throw percentage with an average of 75.9 percent. Louella Allana after a slow start has found her groove, currently ranking 13th in the MAAC for assists with an average of 2.4 per game. 

As for the visitors, the Hawks are coming off a statement victory over NJIT 77-68. In the victory, Divine Dibula was sensational, posting a near double double scoring 21 points and grabbing nine boards, shooting 9-for-12 from the field in only 30 minutes of playing time. The Hawks currently sit at a record of 3-4. The FDU Knights head onto the road after a hard fought victory at home against Lafayette 69-61. Kailee McDonald posted a solid team high of 23 points including seven rebounds. Both McDonald and Ava Renninger with the iron women performances, playing all 40 minutes of the contest. 

These two matchups will conclude the Peacocks non-conference schedule, as Saint Peter's will open conference play on Friday, Dec 19 on the road against Canisius and then Sunday, Dec 21 at Niagara.
