Box Score NORFOLK, VA.- Saint Peter's Softball came up on the losing end of the rubber match against Norfolk State University, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon at the NSU Softball Stadium.
On Friday, Saint Peter's split the season-opening doubleheader with Norfolk State. The Peacocks needed a win on Saturday afternoon to get the 2-1 series win over the Spartans, but unfortunately, that did not happen.
The game could not have started out any better for the Peacocks after the team took a 3-0 lead in the second inning thanks to two separate throwing errors that scored
Olivia Christopher,
Taylor Montgomery, and
Steph Bendzlowicz. After scoring their first run in the bottom of the second, Norfolk State took the lead, 4-3, in the third inning with a three-run inning. Norfolk State never surrendered the lead from that point on.
With Saturday afternoon's loss, Saint Peter's dropped to a 2-2 record.
