DOVER, DEL.- Saint Peter's Softball lost twice to Delaware State University in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon at DSU Softball Field. The Peacocks experienced two crushing defeats from late-game comebacks by the Hornets.
Game One Recap
After leading Delaware State 4-2, Saint Peter's squandered its two-run lead in the fifth inning. The Hornets took the lead in the sixth by tacking on an additional two runs and sealed a 6-4 victory over the Peacocks.

Brielle Coppola started the game in the circle and received the loss for the Peacocks. At the plate, first baseman
Dakota Pitts led the way two runs batted in.
Game Two Recap
One could argue that game two's loss was more of a stinging blow for the Peacocks. In the top of the seventh inning, Saint Peter's padded its lead by scoring four runs, making it a 9-4 ball game. The game seemed virtually out of reach for the Hornets. That was until the Hornets staged a miraculous comeback in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Delaware State scored six runs to put away Saint Peter's in heartbreaking fashion.
Angelina Wagner was handed the game-two loss for Saint Peter's.
With Tuesday's doubleheader sweep at the hands of the Hornets, the Peacocks fell to 4-6 on the season.

The team will look to bounce back quickly when they play Wagner College in a road doubleheader on Thursday afternoon at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
