STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.- Saint Peter's Softball came up on the losing end of both doubleheader contests against Wagner College on Friday afternoon at Wagner Softball Field.
Game One Recap
The Seahawks had a brief scare after Saint Peter's scored its first run in the sixth inning, but they held on for a 3-1 win over Saint Peter's. Sophomore second baseman
Olivia Christopher drove home the Peacocks' lone run in the sixth inning.
In the circle,
Ava White received the loss for the Peacocks. White went six innings for the Peacocks. Despite receiving the loss, she settled down after giving up two first-inning runs by only surrendering another run in the fourth inning. She finished her outing with two scoreless innings in the fifth and sixth innings.
Game Two Recap
For Saint Peter's, the second game was more lopsided than the first. Wagner handed Saint Peter's an 8-2 loss. The Seahawks blew the game open in the second inning by scoring four runs. The Peacocks were unable to climb out of that early 4-0 hole.
Offensively,
Steph Bendzlowicz drove in the Peacocks' first run of the game with a putout to Wagner shortstop Payton Janicki that scored
Jess Forte. Christopher accounted for Saint Peter's second run, which was her second RBI of the doubleheader.
Following the pair of losses on Friday, Saint Peter's tumbled to a 4-8 overall record.

On Sunday at 12 p.m., the Peacocks will look to bounce back in a single-game matchup against Coppin State University at Jaroschak Field.
