RIVERDALE, N.Y.- Saint Peter's Softball lost to Manhattan University, 11-10, on Friday afternoon at Gaelic Park.
The Peacocks and Jaspers were only able to play one game due to inclement weather that disrupted the ability to play the second game. This was a topsy-turvy game for the Peacocks as they held a 4-0 lead in the first inning but saw that lead dwindle away after the Jaspers scored four runs in the third inning and an additional six runs in the fifth inning. Manhattan held a 10-5 advantage entering the sixth inning.
The Peacocks stormed back to tie the game in the sixth inning by scoring five runs. The Jaspers added a run in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the 11-10 victory over the Peacocks. Senior shortstop
Jess Forte hit her third home run of the season in the first inning. This was Forte's second consecutive game with a home run. Forte finished the game with three RBIs.
Tai Turner and
Dakota Pitts also added two RBIs each for the Peacocks. Saint Peter's finished with nine hits on the afternoon. With the loss, Saint Peter's dropped to 9-20 on the season.

Friday's second game will be made up on Sunday, April 13 as part of a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for 12 p.m.
