JERSEY CITY, N.J.- Saint Peter's Softball lost to Rider University, 5-4, on Saturday at Jaroschak Field on Saturday.
Saturday's loss was a crushing defeat for Saint Peter's that saw a one-run lead erased in the top of the seventh inning.
Jess Forte led the way on offense with two home runs. Forte's two home runs accounted for all four of Saint Peter's runs.
Thus far, Forte has hit six home runs this season. This was her first multi-home run game of the season.
In the game, the Peacocks' lead was as large as 4-1 after the fourth inning.
Brielle Coppola came in relief of
Morgan Lipansky in the second inning. Coppola went five-and-two-third innings for Saint Peter's.
