JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Saint Peter's women's basketball team enters the second weekend of January fired up and ready for a conference matchup with the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers on Saturday, Jan. 10 in Run Baby Run Arena, tipoff is slated for 2 pm ET.
The Peacocks look to bounce back following a hard fought loss at home to Fairfield 62-84. In the loss however, three standout performances must be highlighted. Firstly the work from
Nikola Zdenkova was sensational, leading the team with 15 points, all on 3-pointers, and playing the iron women with a team high 37 minutes played.
De'Naya Rippey continues to have an incredible sophomore year with another double double added to her total, with 14 points and 10 rebounds in the contest.
Carys Roy was the spark plug for the Peacocks, scoring 14 points off the bench while going an impressive 6-for-8 from the field.
The Mountaineers look to get back on track following a tough defeat to Quinnipiac 44-70. Alana Powell was the leading scorer for the Mount, scoring 10 points coming off the bench. Gabrielle Kennerly has had a stellar year thus far, scoring an average of 15.8 points per game, ranking fourth best in the MAAC.
Last season the Peacocks and the Mountaineers split the series at 1-1, with the Peacocks getting the better of Mount St. Mary's in the second matchup 70-54. This will be the 16th time both teams will face off. All MAAC conference contests will be streamed live on ESPN +
