Peacocks Shatter Program Record on Day Two of MAAC Championships

GENEVA, OH– On day two of the MAAC Championships at SPIRE Aquatic Center, the Saint Peter's swimming and diving programs delivered another strong showing Thursday evening. The women's 200 freestyle relay squad of Maddie McKinney, Elettra Dalcerri, Madison Petricevic, and Paige Austin-Burrows shattered a 12-year-old program record, becoming the first quartet in school history to dip under 1:38.

Through 14 events, Marist (457) maintains first, with Niagara (412) now in second, and Sacred Heart (366) in third for the women's standings, while Fairfield (473.5) jumps to first, Marist (116) is in second, and Niagara (397) is in third for the men. Both Peacock squads remain in the same positions as day one, with the women in 11th and the men in eighth.

WOMEN'S RESULTS
Paige Austin-Burrows secured a spot in the B Final of the 50 freestyle and went on to win her heat by .05 seconds over Merrimack. She shaved 0.14 seconds off her personal best, recording the second-fastest time in program history, touching the wall in 23.85.

Marist finished first and third in the A Final, with Anna Kirby (23.27) claiming gold and Kennedy Wheeler (23.48) taking bronze. Niagara's Claire Gorton earned silver in 23.35.

The highlight of the evening for the Peacocks came in the 200 freestyle relay, as McKinney, Dalcerri, Petricevic, and Austin-Burrows smashed the previous school record by nearly a full second, finishing in 1:37.29 for eighth overall.

Niagara claimed first in 1:33.39, followed by Mount St. Mary's (1:34.60) and Marist (1:34.73).


MEN'S RESULTS
Juan Nunez earned a spot in the A Final of the 500 freestyle, opening the evening by slashing nearly six seconds off his previous personal best set at last year's MAAC Championships. He touched the wall in 4:32.25 to place sixth overall and rank second all-time in program history.

Marist went 1–3 in the event, with Oscar Bjering claiming gold in 4:26.17. Fairfield's Aidan Schnapf followed closely in second (4:26.25), while Jack Labianca finished third in 4:28.16.

Ashton Smith also advanced to the finals, earning a spot in the C Final. Smith placed second in his heat and 18th overall in 20.89, finishing just .37 seconds off his personal best and the team record.

Iona's Nick Patino captured first in 20.02, followed by Rider's Billy Ruddy (20.04) and Mount St. Mary's Lucas Hancock (20.18).


DAY THREE
Friday's preliminary session begins with the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke, and concludes with the women's 1-meter dive. Prelims are set to begin at 10 a.m.

The top 16 times in each event will advance to the evening finals, which will also feature the men's and women's 400 medley relays. Finals are scheduled for 6 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
