Peacocks Look To Clinch Postseason In Final Home And Road Dates

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Saint Peter's women's basketball team is dialed up and ready with the 2025-26 season coming to a close, the team is looking to secure their ticket to the MAAC tournament with a pair of high profile matchups. First up on the list is the final home game against Marist on Thursday, Feb 26 at 7 pm ET in Run Baby Run Arena. Immediately following that is the last road game and season finale at Manhattan on Saturday, Feb 28 at 2 pm ET. 

Peacock Preview
Saint Peter's comes off a hard fought defeat on Senior Day to Iona 55-66 last Saturday, Feb 21. The high emotions of Senior Day were felt throughout the arena, but the main story on the court was all about the next generations of stars for the Peacocks. With Jayshlynn Vega and De'Naya Rippey combining for 34 points in the loss. With eyes on the postseason, the Peacocks head into round two with their competitors. Last time out against the Red Foxes and Jaspers were not too kind for Saint Peter's as the team looks to avenge a 53-56 defeat to Marist and a 45-60 loss to Manhattan. 

Opponent Previews
Marist aims to keep their postseason dreams alive following a heartbreaking overtime loss on Senior Day to Manhattan last Thursday, Feb 19 in a 61-66 final score. In defeat, the Red Foxes were paced by three players who scored in double digits. Julia Corsentino provided a great scoring output off the bench with 11 points, including shooting 50.0 percent from the field. Lexie Tarul was the sharpshooter for Marist, scoring 15 points and knocking three 3-pointers. And Ciara Croker was the leading scorer in a fantastic double double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. 

Manhattan enters on a high after being the victors in the overtime clash against Marist and knocking off Merrimack on Saturday, Feb 21 in a dominant 82-67 victory. The Jaspers in the dominant victory over the Warriors finished with a pair of 20 point scorers. Brianna Davis was the dominant figure for Manhattan, leading the team with 28 points and getting it done on the defensive end with four steals. This is now her third game in the month of February scoring 28 points and has scored only fewer than 10 points twice since January. Elisa Sole Sanchez was the other top scorer, scoring 23 points in back to back performances.
