JERSEY CITY, N.J.- The Peacocks (2-16, 0-5 MAAC) struggled at bat in their 1-11 loss to Fairfield (8-10, 6-2 MAAC) on Saturday afternoon.
Even with the loss, Chase Fogg played well by adding an RBI to his line in the bottom of the second inning. James Ellis pitched for five innings for Saint Peter's, facing 28 batters and only allowing seven hits during his time on the mound.
HOW IT HAPPENED-
Saint Peter's started off early with a run in the bottom of the second inning from a Fogg hit, allowing Luke Schwartz to get to home plate.
Fairfield would go on to score eleven unanswered runs between the third and seventh innings, not allowing the Peacocks to create momentum offensively.
SPU held the Stags to zero runs in the eighth and ninth innings, ending the game in a 1-11 loss for the Peacocks.
