JERSEY CITY, N.J. - The Saint Peter's baseball team faced a tough 3-19 defeat to La Salle on Wednesday at Jaroschak Field as the Peacocks still seek their first win at home.
The Peacocks (3-26, 0-12 MAAC) found themselves trailing the Explorers (16-18, 3-9 MAAC) by a large margin early into the game. They were unable to close the deficit, as the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season ended much closer.
Saint Peter's totaled seven hits coming from seven different players. The highlight of the day for SPU was when
Max Abrams went yard in his first at bat since Mar. 14 to give the Peacocks their first home run of the day.
Max McCluskey also added a bat flip on a two-run homer in the seventh inning, but the gap was too large to overcome as the Peacocks still trailed by 16 runs.
The Peacocks waste no time getting back on the diamond, playing a three-game series at Mount St. Mary's starting Friday.
