LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Saint Peter's baseball team (5-45, 1-27 MAAC) dropped a road game to Rider (28-17, 20-8 MAAC) on Thursday by a final score of 2-11 at Sonny Pittaro Field.
The Peacocks totaled four hits on the day, with
Allen Ramos leading the team with two.
Alex Manent and
Chase Fogg each recorded a hit as well.
It was a tight contest through the first six innings, but the Broncs came alive in the seventh to pull away from Saint Peter's. The Peacocks have just two games remaining in the 2026 season after Thursday's matchup.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Rider broke a scoreless game in the second inning after launching a two-run homer to left field, giving the Broncs an early 2-0 advantage. The hosts added another run in the fourth on an RBI double.
The Peacocks chipped away in the middle innings. Ramos scored on a balk in the fifth after Manent singled to put runners on base, trimming the deficit to 1-3. Saint Peter's pulled within one in the sixth when Fogg crossed the plate on a throwing error by Rider's third baseman.
The Broncs responded with four runs in the seventh inning to regain control. They scored on two RBI doubles, followed by a sacrifice fly and an RBI single. Rider added four more runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by RBI hits from three different players, to put the game out of reach.
