JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Steve Polizzi of the Saint Peter's University baseball team earned a spot on the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Rookie Team, the conference announced on Tuesday.
Joining Polizzi on the MAAC All-Rookie Team are Harrison Engle (Fairfield), TJ Baer (Marist), Luke Lang (Iona), Caden Williamson (Quinnipiac), Garrett McGovern (Merrimack), Nick Cote (Niagara), Phoenix Williams (Mount St. Mary's), Malachi Costello (Iona), Chase Camac (Quinnipiac), Jacob Belecky (Quinnipiac) and Will Rudolph (Sacred Heart).
Polizzi put together a stellar campaign in 2026, totaling 44 hits, 27 RBIs and eight home runs. He tied for the third-most hits and RBIs on the team and tied for the second-most home runs by any Peacock this season. Polizzi finished the year with a .275 batting average along with a .488 slugging percentage.
He was walked 25 times throughout the course of the season and recorded a .378 on-base percentage. From April 10 to April 18, Polizzi homered in five straight games for the Peacocks, marking the longest stretch of games with a home run by a Peacock dating back to at least 2013.
