Five Peacocks Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Five Saint Peter's University baseball players earned spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, CSC announced on Tuesday.

The Peacocks were represented by Joey Dwyer, James Ellis, Bobby Lavely, Chase Fogg and Steve Polizzi.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Baseball teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

A key contributor in the outfield, Dwyer appeared in 44 games with 38 starts for Saint Peter's during the 2026 season. The redshirt senior batted .253 with 39 hits, 21 runs scored, 14 RBIs, four doubles and a home run while adding 10 stolen bases. Dwyer ranked among the team's most consistent players, finishing sixth on the squad in hits and serving as a reliable presence both offensively and defensively in the outfield.

A mainstay in the Peacocks' starting rotation, Ellis made 13 starts and logged 59.2 innings during his senior season. The left-hander led the Peacocks in innings pitched and starts while recording 33 strikeouts. After overcoming injuries earlier in his collegiate career, Ellis took on a significant role in the pitching staff and provided valuable veteran leadership throughout the 2026 campaign.

Lavely emerged as one of Saint Peter's top power hitters during the 2026 season, appearing in 46 games with 42 starts at first base. The redshirt junior batted .248 with 34 hits, 19 RBI, five home runs, four doubles and 16 runs scored. Lavely provided a consistent middle-of-the-order presence, highlighted by a four-hit performance against NJIT and several key home runs throughout the season.

Fogg was a key contributor for the Peacocks, starting 46 games and appearing in 48. The sophomore infielder recorded 31 hits, five doubles, two home runs, 16 RBIs and 23 runs scored while posting a .365 on-base percentage. Defensively, he was one of Saint Peter's most reliable infielders, compiling a .981 fielding percentage with 14 double plays turned.

Polizzi made an immediate impact in his first season with the Peacocks, earning MAAC All-Rookie honors while emerging as one of the club's top offensive performers. The redshirt freshman catcher appeared in 46 games with 42 starts, batting .275 with 44 hits, eight doubles, one triple, eight home runs, 27 RBIs and 36 runs scored. His .488 slugging percentage and .866 OPS ranked among the team's leaders, while he also drew 25 walks and posted a .378 on-base percentage. From April 10 to April 18, Polizzi homered in five straight games.
