Peacocks Set for 2026 MAAC Outdoor Championships at The Mount

Saint Peter’s sends 38 athletes to Maryland for the two-day MAAC Championships

EMMITSBURG, MD– The Saint Peter's track and field programs prepare for the 2026 Outdoor MAAC Championships, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University at Morgan Track in Emmitsburg, MD, May 9-10. 

Action begins at 11 a.m. with the Men's Javelin in the field and 1:20 p.m. with the Women's 1500m Trials and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ for the first time in league history.


LAST TIME OUT
Saint Peter's competed in its final regular-season meet, Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium, over the weekend.

Amari Campbell narrowly missed the podium with a mark of 7.12m (23'4½") in the long jump. Favour Owolabi and Ajani Peck-Wekunda raced in the men's 400m, with Owolabi placing third in his heat (48.01) for ninth overall, while Peck-Wekunda won his heat (48.87) to place 12th.

Karilynn Jimenez finished inside the top 20 with a time of 25.01 in the 200m.

COMPETING PEACOCKS
38 Peacocks will represent the programs, with 19 men and 19 women competing across various events.

Representing Saint Peter's for the women will be: Madison Petricevic, Dezoara Diaz, Adriana Rollins, Alyana Meador, Elettra Dalcerri, Shirleysa Rivas, Luisana Flores, McKenzie Johnson, Paulina Nunez, Samyah Wilson, Shania McDuffie, Alia Moreira, Ciara Brown, Shanelle Vilson, Karilynn Jimenez, Kennedy Vaughn, Mercedes Cruz-Fletcher, Lourdes Lawson, and Angela Owusu-Ansah.

The men's side will feature: Solomon Dunham, Ajani Peck-Wekunda, Johan Aparicio, Neo Clark-Tabb, Connor Ziolkowski, Michael Odins, Michael Amaker, Cashieve Blair, Amari Campbell, Dylan Williams, Ameen Zubair, Brian Yeager, Sebastian Lopez, Gerardo Quaglia, Desrick Hemans Jr., Niles Thony, Malique Jackson, and Favour Owolabi.

KEY PEACOCKS TO WATCH
Cashieve Blair: 3x MAAC Track Athlete of the Week, first athlete to win three consecutive awards. Owns the top times in the conference for the 200m (20.74) and 400m (46.81), nearly a second faster than the rest of the competition. 

Ranks third in the 200m and 10th in the 400m on the DI Mid-Atlantic Region Outdoor Performance List (TFFRS). Broke both Saint Peter's records, lowering the 200m mark twice and snapping a 45-year-old record in the 400m.

Favour Owolabi: Ranks fifth in the conference in the 400m (48.01) and is a part of the first-place 4x4 team that sits atop the MAAC standings (3:13.47).
Ran the fastest split on the team this season in the 4x400m relay, clocking 45.40 on the winning squad at the Metropolitan Championships. Ran the third leg in the relay at Penn Relays (48.74), helping secure back-to-back titles in the College Men's 4x400 CTC.

Karilynn Jimenez: Owns the top times on the team in the 100m (12.08) and 200m (25.01) and ranks 12th in the conference in both events. Secured first place in the 100m at the Monmouth Home Opener and bronze at the Metropolitan Championships in the event.

Day one of the Championships will consist of all the preliminary events, the 3000m steeplechase, and the 10,000m run on the track, while the javelin, pole vault, long jump, and hammer throw will begin in the field.

AROUND THE MAAC
Standout Women:
Nyasia Dailey (Quinnipiac): Reigning MAAC outdoor 100m champion, broke the conference record in the event twice at last year's championships. Has earned gold in the 100m in three out of six meets competed in, placing first at the UConn Dog Fight, the Bison Outdoor Classic, and the Jay Carisella and Joe Donahue Coaches Invitational.

Isabella Anzaldo (Quinnipiac): Owns the top time in the conference for the 200m (23.87), nearly a second faster than the field and third fastest time in the 100m (11.67). Has placed in the top five in the last five events, including sweeping 100m and 200m at Yale's Mark Young Invitational.

Quinnipiac holds the top spot in the 4x100 in the MAAC, while Marist has the top spot in the 4x4, both set at Penn Relays.

Standout Men:
Lance Hayes (Sacred Heart): Has the second-fastest time in the 400m (47.31), set during IC4As. Has finished first and third in both 400m he has competed in, including the 2026 George Mason Dalton Ebanks Invitational and IC4A Championship.

Jaxyn Mahoney (Canisius): Fastest 800m in the conference, clocked in at 1:51.13 at the UB Alumni Invitational, taking gold. Was the runner-up in the 2026 Indoor MAAC Championships for the 800m, in his championships debut.   

Nando Meggs (Mount St. Mary's): Second in the MAAC in long jump with a distance of 
7.19m (23' 7.25"), recently set at the IC4A Championships, sits .10m (3.75") behind Amari Campbell (7.29m, 23' 11"). 

Iona has the second-fastest time in the 4x400 across the conference, clocking in at 3:14.74 during Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational. Currently, the Gaels sit 1.27 seconds behind the Peacocks (3:13.47).


LAST YEAR AT MAACS
The men's team placed ninth out of 10 teams, while the women finished in 12th. Rider swept the championships, with the men winning in 156 points and the women 230.

Connor Ziolkowski was the highest-placed Peacock, earning silver in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time. Other key contributors to the Peacocks' total were Omari Owens-Jones, who took bronze in the 100m, and Amari Campbell with a fifth-place finish in the long jump.

On the women's side, the 4x100m squad of Karilynn Jimenez, Samyah Wilson, Shanelle Vilson, and Shania McDuffie placed seventh, while McDuffie also finished fifth in the 200m with a time of 25.01.
