Saint Peter's University Athletics

Athletic Department

December Letter from Our Athletic Director

Dear Friend of Saint Peter's Athletics,

As I reflect on my first 30 days here, I am reminded of how truly special Saint Peter's University is.  I am grateful for the opportunities I have had to meet alumni, fellow staff members, faculty, family and friends and I look forward to meeting more of you in the months to come.  I will continue to listen to our coaches, student-athletes, faculty and staff, and will welcome honest feedback about our strengths, our challenges and our needs moving forward. We have work ahead of us, but I am confident that now is a great time to be a Peacock!

We are making strides to further enhance our student-athlete and fan experience.  Last month, we debuted our new mobile broadcast production unit to stream home games on ESPN3 and ESPN+.  To date, the semifinal and championship game of the MAAC Men's Soccer Championship at Jaroschak Field were streamed and all men's and women's basketball games will be streamed during the 2019-20 season.

In the classroom, our student-athletes continue to excel.  In October, the NCAA released the annual Graduation Success Rate Data and our department posted its highest ever GSR score of 94 percent, exceeding last year's record of 92 percent.  Our student-athletes are taking their final exams now, and we wish them well as they look to finish the semester strong!

Our teams competing now are men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming & diving, and men's and women's indoor track & field and each are off to great starts.  We encourage you to come out to support our student-athletes and wish them all a successful season – you can see our full schedule at SaintPetersPeacocks.com/Calendar.

Of course, none of our achievements are possible without the unwavering commitment and support of Peacock Nation and our generous donors.  Those who provide financial support are truly the backbone of our success. It is because of your generosity that our student-athletes have the resources needed to compete for excellence.

I look forward to continued success as we enter 2020 and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Go Peacocks!

Rachelle Paul
