Peacocks Fall to Bryant, Drexel in Final Day of Maryland Invitational

COLLEGE PARK, MD - The Saint Peter's softball team dropped both games on day two of the Maryland Invitational. The Peacocks lost to Bryant 8-1 before falling to Drexel 10-0 (five innings).
 
Game 1 vs. Bryant

• The Peacocks got on the board first thanks to a sacrifice fly to right field from Alina Guevara that scored Katie Sciglimpaglia from third base.
• Sciglimpaglia had singled up the middle to start off the inning before advancing on a hit by pitch and wild pitch before scoring on the sac fly.
• The Bulldogs responded in the bottom of the fourth inning, scoring three runs off of a double and an error.
• Bryant added five runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the 8-1 win.
• Sciglimpaglia and Harley Connors led the Peacocks with three hits each.

Game 2 vs. Drexel

• Both teams went scoreless in the first two innings.
• The Dragons scored their first runs in the third inning off of two doubles and a two-run homerun.
• The Dragons added some insurance runs in the fourth inning thanks to a grand slam and a solo homerun.
