JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's University President Dr. Eugene J. Cornacchia has announced that Katie Arcuri, associate director of athletics for compliance/senior woman administrator, has been appointed to serve as the interim director of athletics. She assumed her role following Bryan Felt's departure on Aug. 21.
"Given Katie's experience and past success as a senior member of the athletic department's staff, I am confident in her ability to manage our Division I athletics program during this transition period," said Dr. Cornacchia. "The University appreciates her support as the search is underway for the next athletic director, who will continue to build on the positive student-athlete experience and excitement our fans and supporters have for Saint Peter's athletics."
Arcuri is beginning her sixth year at Saint Peter's in 2019-20, serving as a member of the athletics department's senior staff. She is responsible for student-athlete welfare and the enforcement of all NCAA and MAAC rules and regulations for Saint Peter's 16 Division I athletic programs. She also acts as a liaison with appropriate university departments, including financial aid, admissions, residence life and the faculty athletics representative.
Arcuri has been at the forefront of several new athletic initiatives, including the award of a $100,000 NCAA Accelerating Academic Success Program grant that was dedicated to the professional and academic development of student-athletes. Her efforts have directly impacted graduation rates, which have soared to an all-time high for the department since her arrival.
The University is conducting an accelerated search to fill the director of athletics position.
