EDISON, NJ - Sophomore defender
Brooke Boutchie has been named as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office today.
Boutchie notched the game-winner in the Peacocks' lone match of the week against Siena this past Saturday. The sophomore dropped in a free kick from about 20 yards out in the first half to propel the program to their first win against the Saints in 21 years. The triumph also marked the first time women's soccer has won a road tilt against Siena since Oct. 10, 1992, which was also the first win in the history of the program. The weekly award for Boutchie is the first of her collegiate career.
Boutchie is joined by Rider's Carmen Carbonell and Camryn Dees, who won Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Boutchie and the Peacocks will be back in action at home against Fairfield on Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 3 p.m.
