EDISON, NJ - Following a career game at Quinnipiac on Saturday evening, men's basketball freshman forward,
Hassan Drame has been named by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) as the Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week, announced by the league office today. The honor is the second of the season for the freshman from Bamako, Mali, and the fourth overall award for Saint Peter's on the year.
Drame scored a career-high 17 points and added 14 rebounds to lead Saint Peter's to a 71-51 victory over Quinnipiac on Saturday, giving him his second career double-double. Along with his career night in scoring, he also handed out a career and game-high five assists in the win. At Fairfield on Wednesday night, Drame scored five points and grabbed three rebounds off the bench in just 12 minutes of action.
For the week, Drame led the Peacocks in scoring, rebounds and assists, averaging 11.0 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
He is joined by Canisius's Malik Johnson, who was voted as the Pepsi Zero MAAC Player of the Week.
Drame and the Peacocks are back in action this Friday, Jan. 24, when the team visits hOURglass Rival Rider at 7 p.m.
