Dear Friend of Saint Peter's Athletics,
I hope that you and your family have continued to stay safe and well during these challenging times.
While we navigate through an unconventional Fall semester, I am happy to note that
basketball season has arrived! October 14
th marked the official start of practice for our teams and we are about six weeks away from our first competition. Our basketball coaching staffs and student-athletes are working tirelessly to ensure that they are prepared and ready for a safe and successful season! While we will most certainly miss having our loyal supporters in the stands to
start the year, rest assured you will be able to catch all of the action on ESPN3 and ESPN+.
As you know, we recently made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming William J. Murray Peacock Athletics Golf Outing as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. However, with so many events and activities taking place virtually these days, we are excited to announce the
2020 Peacock Trot presented by Liberty Savings Federal Credit Union, an inaugural virtual 5K event that is open to anyone and everyone. We encourage you to register and we hope you'll join us as we run (or walk) a 5K between November 22-29 in support of our student-athletes. Don't forget to tell your family, friends and neighbors, too! Registration is now open
here!
Our department is so excited to release to you the
2019-20 Athletics Annual Report in this newsletter. Throughout the report, you will find information about our student-athlete success in the classroom, participation in community service, Peacock Nation events, and other exciting things happening in Peacock athletics. Join us in reflecting back and celebrating the many achievements, accomplishments and accolades of our student-athletes from last year. You can read through the report
here.
Lastly, on behalf of the entire athletics department I want to thank our loyal donors, alumni and fans who continue to support our student-athletes. Your commitment to our continued success is greatly appreciated and it is only a matter of time before we will all be together again, cheering on our beloved Peacocks.
GO PEACOCKS!
