December Letter from Our Athletic Director

Dear Friend of Saint Peter's Athletics,

I hope that you and your family continue to stay safe and healthy during these times. As we near the end of final exams and the conclusion of a challenging fall semester and I reflect on the last year, I continue to be impressed with and inspired by the strength & resiliency of our student-athletes, coaches and staff.

After much anticipation and preparation, and with increased COVID-19 testing protocols and safety precautions, both our men's & women's basketball programs are back on the hardwood competing. We are grateful to our neighbors in Jersey City at NJCU for their partnership in hosting our home games. The Peacocks are off to a great start as the conference schedule tipped off last weekend with both programs going 2-0, the men against Niagara and the women against Iona.

While we miss having our dedicated fans in the stands this year, I want to personally thank all of those who have already purchased their virtual season tickets. If you haven't done so already, there is still time! As a token of appreciation for your support, your purchase will come with a home viewing kit to help make your ESPN3/+ viewing experience complete. Your 2020-21 virtual season ticket purchase will have a direct and immediate impact on our basketball programs and your support means more now than ever before! You can purchase your virtual season tickets here.

The NCAA has recently released its annual Graduation Success Rates (GSR) and Federal Graduate Rates (FGR) and our student-athletes set another single-year GSR mark at 95 percent for the 2013-14 cohort year. Further, eight of our programs earned a perfect GSR score and 11 of our programs improved or matched their rating from last year. I also want to congratulate our 44 student-athletes from our Fall sports who were named to their respective MAAC All-Academic Teams. Even while facing unprecedented challenges, they continue to put the
student in student-athlete!

Our Inaugural Peacock Trot was a tremendous success. Congratulations and thank you to all who participated! The weeklong virtual 5K had over 125 participants run or walk, including alumni, current students, faculty, staff, families and friends, from New Jersey to New Zealand! We look forward to turning this into an annual Peacock Nation event, and we hope you'll join us in the future if you missed out this year!

Lastly,
I want to thank all of Peacock Nation for your continued loyalty and generosity.  I look forward to continued success as we enter 2021 and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

GO PEACOCKS!
