JERSEY CITY, NJ – Saint Peter's University men's basketball's tilt scheduled for Friday, Jan. 22 at Siena College, has been flexed to air on ESPNU as part of the MAAC/ESPN Wildcard Game package, announced by the conference office today. The game between last season's top-two MAAC squads will tip at 7pm at Alumni Recreation Center in Loudonville, NY.
The Peacocks' currently sit at 3-3 in league play and 6-5 overall, while the Saints have been successful in all four of their games during the shortened season. The two sides split last season's series, each winning on its respective home floors, leading to historic 2019-20 finishes for both squads. Prior to Saint Peter's and Siena clashing on ESPNU, the Peacocks will face Iona on Sunday, Jan. 17 and Monday, Jan. 18 at 4pm.
The wildcard format allows ESPN to pick any game scheduled for that specific date to air on ESPNU and allows the MAAC and ESPN the flexibility to showcase the best matchups as the season progresses. The Jan. 22 game between Saint Peter's and Siena is the first wildcard selection of the season by the MAAC/ESPN. The Peacocks' home contest against Marist scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19 is the next potential wildcard selection for Saint Peter's.
