EDISON, NJ – Saint Peter's men's basketball junior forward KC Ndefo has been named as the Hercules Tires Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Student-Athlete of the Week, announced by the league on Wednesday.
Ndefo, all-conference selection, has ushered the Saint Peter's men's basketball team on both sides of the court this season. The junior, which anchors the Peacocks' front court, leads the team in points, blocks and steals, while ranking second in rebounds and fourth in assists. On the MAAC leaderboard, Ndefo leads the league in blocks, ranks fourth in steals, eighth in scoring, and 16th in rebounding. Nationally, the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Year sits among the country's best in rim protection. Following the opening week of 2021, Ndefo led the NCAA in total blocks (40) and blocked shots per game (3.6 bpg) and despite the squad having not played since Jan. 2, he still holds the nation's top spot in blocked shots per game, while ranking sixth in total blocks entering the week.
Ndefo and the Peacocks will travel to Loudonville, NY this weekend for a road series against top-ranked Siena College on Jan. 22-23.
