JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Saint Peter's University has named
Brendan O'Leary as the new Assistant Athletics Director for Performance and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.
"We're excited to welcome Brendan to the Saint Peter's family," Director of Athletics Rachelle Paul said. "His experience and knowledge from training student-athletes in programs across the country will be a great asset for our Peacocks."
O'Leary comes to Jersey City from George Washington University, where he was the associate strength and conditioning coach for the Division I school since December 2019. His primary responsibility was programming training for the men's basketball team.
Prior to his stop in Washington D.C., O'Leary was the head strength and conditioning coach for Mount St. Mary's University for five years. He directed training for the 21 Division I teams at the school and brought new initiatives to the university, including a new return-to-play concussion protocol and a specialized post-workout sports nutrition plan for all athletes.
O'Leary gained experience from working in strength and conditioning with North Carolina State, Wake Forest and the University of Texas, where he holds a Master of Education in Sports Science and Nutrition. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at Bloomsburg University.
O'Leary is a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) certified strength and conditioning coach since May 2013.
