Doug Waters Welcomed as Assistant Athletics Director for Strategic Communications

JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Saint Peter's Athletics has named Doug Waters as the Assistant Athletics Director for Strategic Communications, joining the Peacocks staff after spending more than two years with the Stevens Institute of Technology.

"It's exciting to welcome Doug to the university," Director of Athletics Rachelle Paul said. "His expertise in the areas of strategic communications and content creation will be greatly valued, as they are critical to the enhanced exposure of our student-athletes and our brand. We're looking forward to seeing his impact on Saint Peter's Athletics."

At Stevens, Waters was the assistant director of athletics communications -- serving as the primary contact for 12 Ducks' programs, keeping live statistics, creating video content, and sitting on several committees for initiatives like Hall of Fame selection and Diversity & Inclusion, among other responsibilities.

"I'm so excited to join the Saint Peter's family," Waters added. "This is an amazing opportunity for me and my family. I can't wait to get started!"

Prior to his move to New Jersey, Waters spent two years as a sports information graduate assistant at Concordia University Texas, working with the Tornados' 15 athletics programs and earning his master's degree in sports administration.

Waters got his start in athletics communications as the assistant sports information director at Oklahoma City University in 2016-17, when the Stars earned the Learfield Directors' Cup title as the top overall athletic department in the NAIA.

A graduate of the University of Texas, Waters earned his bachelor's degree in journalism in 2016. While in Austin, he worked with the Longhorns baseball team as a student manager for three seasons, serving as the head student manager during his final year.
