Dear Friends of Saint Peter's Athletics,
I hope this finds you well and excited for the upcoming holiday season! I'd like to start off by saying how proud I am of our student-athletes for their ability to bounce back after all they had to endure last year and am thankful for an incredibly successful fall season!
I would also like to express my gratitude to the 220 donors who contributed to Saint Peter's University on Giving Tuesday. The Saint Peter's community raised $36,114 with your help! Your contributions will leave an everlasting impact on our student-athletes as we push forward.
The 2021-22 basketball season is underway! We missed all of Peacock Nation last year and are thrilled to be back home competing on the hardwood in Run Baby Run Arena. The men's program has tallied three impressive victories over LIU, Quinnipiac and Nyack thus far. The women's side has posted victories against Delaware State on the road and Wagner at home. I know the best is yet to come for both teams as we turn the calendar to 2022 and the always-challenging MAAC schedule!
Elsewhere on campus, our swimming & diving teams are back in the pool for the first time since the 2019-20 season. They hosted their first meet in the Yanitelli Center over the weekend during which the men's team defeated Susquehanna, while the women's side saw several impressive performances, as well. The indoor track & field season is also underway after a stellar start at the TCNJ Invitational earlier this month that saw a number of our student-athletes come away victorious!
The NCAA has released its annual Graduation Success Rate (GSR) and Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) Data, and Saint Peter's University student-athletes tied the single-year GSR high water mark at 95 percent for the 2014-15 cohort year. Additionally, a school-record 10 programs attained a perfect GSR score!
Lastly, I'd like to invite you to some of the events we will be hosting in the weeks ahead. The women's basketball team will host the alumni reunion on January 22 and the men's alumni reunion will be held on February 6. The Hall of Fame Reunion & Induction ceremony will be on February 27. Finally: save the date for the Peacocks Athletics Golf Outing, which will be held on June 13. We can't wait to see you in the near future!
