For Starters:
- The Saint Peter's University softball team continues its homestand this weekend as it prepares to host Quinnipiac for a four-game series.
- The weekend will bring a pair of doubleheaders that will be played from April 17-18, and will feature games starting at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. each day.
- During their last time out, the Peacocks hosted hOURglass rival Rider in a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday, April 14.
- The visiting Broncs secured the sweep on the day, taking the first win by a 9-0 decision in five innings, while winning Game 2 by a score of 8-2 through seven frames.
- Sophomore Cara McNulty highlighted the day's second game, sending a solo shot over the left field fence in the bottom of the fourth inning for her first career home run.
- Junior Katie Sciglimpaglia also finished the day with her fourth RBI of the season, and her third RBI in the past four games.
Series with the Bobcats:
- A relatively recent series among Saint Peter's conference opponents, the Peacocks and Bobcats will face off in the 17th meeting between the two sides on Saturday.
- To date, Saint Peter's trails 3-13 in the overall win tally against their opponents from Hamden.
- The Peacocks' last win in the series came on the road on April 2, 2017, when the team defeated the Bobcats 1-0 in the first game of the day's doubleheader.
- Saint Peter's is seeking its first home victory over Quinnipiac since the first ever meeting between the two teams on March 27, 2002, when the Peacocks took a 3-0 win at home over the Bobcats.
