EDISON, NJ - Senior forward
Dominic Laws has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office today.
Laws tallied three goals and one assist over the Peacocks' three games in the past week, accounting for seven points. The senior forward contributed on each goal in the team's contests against Siena and Niagara, recording Saint Peter's only assist of the day against the Saints on April 1 and scored the team's lone goal against Niagara on April 3. Against the Golden Griffins, Laws notched two goals, including the game-winner in the 69th minute. The performance marks Laws' second multi-goal performance of the season, following his pair of scores in the team's season opener against Fairfield on March 26.
The Sunderland, England native now sits atop the MAAC leaderboards in goals on the year with five, as well as goals per game, sitting as the only player in the league to average one goal per game. Additionally, both Laws and teammate
Jordan Jowers lead the MAAC in points with 11 apiece.
Laws is joined by Fairfield's Gordon Botterill and Manhattan's Olsen Aluc, who won Defensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Laws and the Peacocks return to the pitch on Thursday for a rematch against 2019 MAAC Championship Final opponent, Iona, in New Rochelle for a 1 p.m. kick-off.
