NEW YORK - The Saint Peter's University track & field teams returned to action in the West Point Open on Saturday with strong showings all around. The Peacocks nabbed three top finishes, with Clardo Nestor, Michael Conover, and Abigail Vital leading the way for the Saint Peter's squad.
Top Performances: Men

Senior Clardo Nestor was the first winner of the day on the men's side, capturing victory in the 500m with a time of 1:04:48. This time was only two seconds from setting a new school record set in 2012 (1:02.66).

Junior Michael Conover captured the second victory of the day for the men, this time in the 800m with a time of 1:55:75.

A duo of Peacocks, Isaiah Sanchez (23:22) and Delano Gooden (23:35), finished in sixth and seventh place in the 200m.

Gooden also ran in the 60m, securing a sixth place finish with a time of 7:07.

Junior Dylan Powell ended the day strong for the Peacocks, earning a seventh place finish in the weight throw with a distance of 14.70m.
Top Performances: Women

Sophomore Abigail Vital secured her first-place finish in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.02, securing the victory over Army's Saydee Aganus by 0.07 seconds. Vital also appeared in the 200m, taking an eighth place finish with a time of 26.39.

Senior Iria Paz qualified for the triple jump finals, but did not place.

The Peacocks will be right back in action this weekend when they return to The Armory to participate in the MLK Relays, set to take place on January 14th, 2022.
