NEW YORK - The Saint Peter's University track & field teams returned to competition on Friday in the Great Dane Classic and Saturday in the NYRR Millrose Games. The Great Dane Classic took place at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island, while the NYRR Millrose Games took place at The Armory in New York, NY.

Continuing his dominant season so far, Clardo Nestor was able to capture another top-three finish. This one came by way of the 800 Meters, where Nestor took third place with a time of 1:52.80. This new time is a personal best as well as the best overall time in the MAAC this season in the event. While also counting as an IC4A championship qualifier time, this time also sets a new school record for Saint Peter's University.
- Michael Conover also finished strong in the 800 Meters, claiming ninth place with a time of 1:55.54.
- Nestor and Conover also saw success in the 4x400, teaming with Jarrett Gentles and Delano Gooden to capture a fourth place finish with a time of 3:18.06. This time is a new best for the Peacocks 4x400 squad this season.

Michael Ilesanmi continued his strong season so far in the Long Jump, taking fourth place in the event with a distance of 6.71m. This was just 0.03m off of his personal best this season.

The Peacocks also saw success in the 200 Meters, where two teammates were able to grab top-15 finishes. Quincy Hendy placed seventh with a time of 22.22, which is an IC4A championship qualifier time. Delano Gooden placed 13th with a time of 22.53. For Hendy, this time of 22.22 sets a new personal collegiate best.

A trio of Peacocks finished grouped together in the top-25 of the 400 Meters. Jarrett Gentles placed 16th with a time of 50.77. Hensley Jean Baptiste finished behind him in 18th with a time of 50.92. The 21st place finish was nabbed by Petrus Benjamin with a time of 51.28.

It was another week of firsts for Diamond McLaughlin, as she participated in the 400 Meter for the first time in her collegiate career. She was just shy of a top-10 finish, placing 11th out of 59 with a time of 59.44. This time places her 5th overall in the MAAC this year.

The 60 Meter event was also positive for the Peacocks, as two student-athletes, Balikis Iyiola and Mikell Dolo, were able to grab top-25 finishes. Iyiola took 20th place with a time of 8.19 while Dolo took 22nd place with a time of 8.23.

Dolo also participated in the 60 Hurdles, where she finished in 28th with a time of 13.66.
Up Next
The Peacocks return to action over the course of next Thursday and Friday, when they participate in the Metropolitan Indoor Championships. For the third week in a row, the teams will return to Ocean Breeze in Staten Island for the event.
