JERSEY CITY, NJ - A men's swimmer and a women's basketball player have been named Saint Peter's University Athletics Peacocks of the Month for February, as junior Luke Cillie and junior Kassondra Brown have earned the sixth monthly Peacock award for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Cillie had a standout performance for the Peacocks at the MAAC Championships. On Day two, as he took silver in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:48.83. On day three of the Championships, he took gold in the 100-yard breaststroke. He posted a career best time of 53.99. On the final day of the Championships, Cillie took silver in the 100-yard freestyle. He finished with a time of 44.73. He totaled three medals on the week.
Brown recorded eight consecutive double-doubles to finish out the month of February and was named MAAC player of the week twice (2/14 & 2/28). In ten games this month, she eclipsed 30 minutes eight times. On February 1, she recorded 25 points against Fairfield, as well as scoring 15+ points in six of the ten contests. She recorded 15 rebounds in three games on the month (2/12, 2/24, and 2/26).
