NEW JERSEY - The Saint Peter's University track & field teams returned to action for their first meet of the outdoor season on Saturday at the 26th Annual Monmouth University Track & Field Season Opener. The Peacocks' day proved successful, as they were able to capture two first-place finishes on the day, both coming from the women's side.
Top Performances: Women

The relay team of Balikis Iyiola, Alexus Smith, Mikell Dolo, Vernetta Gosier, Reyanna Henderson, and Janai Orders were able to capture victory in the 400 with a time of 50.19. This mark was a full two seconds faster than the second place finisher.

The second victory of the day came from Diamond McLaughlin, who started her outdoor season just as strong as her indoor season was. McLaughlin took first place in the 400 Hurdles with a time of 1:04.87. This now stands as not only her collegiate best, but the best for the Saint Peter's Women's Track and Field program this season. She was joined in the race by Abigail Vital, who claimed fourth place with a time of 1:06.44. The time of 1:06.54 now stands as Vital's collegiate best as well.

Outside of the 400 Relay, Mikell Dolo also appeared in the 100 Hurdles, taking 12th place with a time of 15.52. The time of 15.52 now stands as her collegiate best in the event.

The field portion of the day proved successful as well, as Janai Orders was able to capture seventh place in the Triple Jump with a distance of 10.27m. Aaliyah Booker followed in the Pole Vault, finishing tied for ninth place with a distance of 3.05m. The mark of 3.05m for Booker ties her collegiate best in the event.

Jarrett Gentles had the best finish of the day on the men's side, capturing second place in the 400 Hurdles with a time of 56.11. He was joined in the race by Lovens Lormilus, who finished just outside of the top-10, taking 11th place with a time of 1:08.16

In the 110 Hurdles, Val Augustin claimed a top-3 finish with a time of 15.51. This now stands as his collegiate best time in the event.

The 400 Dash event was stacked with Peacocks. Clardo Nestor took the best time of them all, clocking in at 49.45 and in sixth place. He was joined by teammates Isaiah Sanchez (51.86, 17th), Delano Gooden (52.84, 27th), Bayyan Dallas (53.41, 32nd), and Essowedeou Botobikpissi (56.85, 47th).

Fiyin Amori found success in both the Long and Triple Jumps, taking sixth place in both. He finished with a distance of 12.24m in the Triple Jump and set a personal collegiate-best mark of 6.60m in the Long Jump.
