Williams and Brown Earn Second Team All-MAAC Honors

EDISON, N.J. (March 7, 2022) - After an impressive season, the Saint Peter's women's basketball program had two student-athletes selected for All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference awards Monday as graduate guard Kendrea Williams and junior center Kassondra Brown earned Second Team All-MAAC honors.

Williams, who was named to the Preseason All-MAAC second team, earned All-MAAC accolades for the second time in her career after being selected to the Third Team in 2020-21. Williams has set multiple milestones this season, including when she hit three three pointers in the game against Rider on Feb. 12 that broke the career three-point record at Saint Peter's, as she now has 175 and counting. Tania Kennedy '09 previously held the record with 167 during her outstanding career. Williams reached the 1,000 point milestone at Saint Peter's on Jan. 30 against Marist, scoring a layup with 3:26 left in the fourth quarter to hit the magic number. She is the 24th Peacock in history to achieve this. She also eclipsed the 2,000 point mark of her career with 3:47 remaining in the second quarter against Canisius on Dec. 19. She has achieved that total by scoring for both FDU-Florham and Saint Peter's. Williams ranks sixth amongst the active career scoring leaders in the country. She also is ranked seventh amongst the active career three-point field goal leaders in the NCAA.

Kendrea Second Team All-MAAC

Brown transferred in from Rhode Island and has had a major impact on the team in her first season. She is first on the team in both scoring (14.9) and rebounding (10.1) per game. She also leads the team in steals and blocks, and is second on the team in assists. The Abington, PA native rattled off nine straight double-doubles in MAAC play, and totalled 13 on the season. She set career numbers in scoring three times this season, with the most recent coming on Mar. 3 when she scored 28 against Siena. She also recorded 15+ rebounds in five contests this season.

Both players were two-time MAAC Player fo the Week Selections this season.
