Rippey Earns All-MAAC Third Team Honors

JERSEY CITY, N.J. - Sophomore forward De'Naya Rippey of the Saint Peter's women's basketball program was named to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Third Team, the conference announced Wednesday morning. All-MAAC teams were selected and voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.

Rippey joins Cyanne Coe (Fairfield), Lexie Tarul (Marist), Lydia Melaschenko (Merrimack), and Anna Foley (Quinnipiac) for Third Team honors. This is the second straight season the Peacocks have had a player earn all conference honors.

Rippey took the reins this season of being the star on the Peacocks in year two, leading Saint Peter's in points, rebounds, and steals. Ranking in the top 10 in the MAAC in each of those statistics. Ending the year with an average of 13.4 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, and 1.8 steals per game. Rippey capped off an unbelievable regular season with a 30 point performance on the road against Manhattan on Feb. 28, tying for the second most points scored by any player in a single game in the MAAC this year. Along with the incredible scoring, Rippey was dominant on the glass, recording six double doubles this season and had eight games with double digit rebounds, and only four games with five or fewer boards.

Rippey will look to keep her incredible season going as Saint Peter's travels to the MAAC Tournament in a First Round matchup against #7 Sacred Heart on Mar. 5, at 2:30 p.m. ET. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
