JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team and head coach Julian Richens announced today the signing of seven freshmen and two transfers to the program for the beginning of the 2022 season. Four countries (USA, Norway, Sweden, England) and two states (NJ, NY) are represented in this class.
"We are excited for our incoming class," said Richens. "There is a great mix of talent and experience. This group of players will make an immediate impact as well as providing greater depth to our squad options. They have already adapted well to how we strive to develop and prepare our players. Driven, ambitious and humble attitudes, looking forward to seeing them compete in the Saint Peter's Shirt in 2022."
Meet the Saint Peter's University Men's Soccer Class of 2026
Cheroky Briard | Midfielder | Normandie, France | Lycée Émile Littré
Before Saint Peter's: Briard is the lone Frenchman in the class on the roster. During the 2021-2022 season, he trained with the National One group of the US Avranches, which is a team in the third French pro division. He also played for the French international UNSS football for an ISF World Championship in Prague in 2017. He also participated in friendly matches against French League 1 and League 2 teams (FC Lorient / SM Caen) in 2022.
Sean Cadigan | Midfielder | Cedar Grove, New Jersey | Montclair Kimberley Academy
Before Saint Peter's: Cadigan comes to SPU after a stellar career at Montclair Kimberley Academy. According to SCANJ, he was named one of the top 22 prep players in the state of New Jersey. He garnered plenty of awards, including Two-Time Super Essex County (SEC) American Division First Team, One-Time SEC American Division Second Team, Two-Time Essex County First Team, Three-Time All Prep B First Team, and Two-Time Prep B Champion.

Omre Etienne | Defender | Paterson, New Jersey | Enlightium Academy
Before Saint Peter's: Etienne played in multiple MLS academies including MLS Next (also US Development Academy) from 2015-2022, D.C United Academy (2015-2016), Red Bulls Academy (2016-2020), Columbus Crew SC Academy (2020-2022), and TSF Academy (2022). He also has represented the Haiti U15 National Team for a friendly tournament in the Dominican Republic in 2017, the Haiti U17 National Team for the CONCACAF U17 Cup in 2019 (Semi-Finalists), qualifying/playing in the 2019 U17 World Cup in Brazil, and the Haiti U20 National Team for the CONCACAF U20 Cup in 2022 (Round of 16).

Mikkel Fodstad | Forward | Høvik, Norway | University of Nebraska at Omaha
Before Saint Peter's: Fodstad brings NCAA Tournament experience with him to Saint Peter's, reaching the second round of last year's tournament with the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He represented Oslo's state/regional soccer team in 2015-16 and he earned professional debut for Bærum SK in the Norwegian Second division on September 30, 2017, playing against Ham-Kam.

John Hallgren | Forward | Poughkeepsie, New York | American Heritage School
Before Saint Peter's: Hallgren joins the Peacocks as only the second New Yorker on the roster, joining graduate student Tim Fafian. He played club for Quick Strike FC. Off the field, Hallgren posted a 4.0 GPA and was a two-time Exemplary Character and Citizenship Award winner.

Teodor Linn | Forward | Alingsas, Sweden | Alströmergymnasiet
Before Saint Peter's: Linn comes to Jersey City by way of Sweden. As a 16 year-old, he participated in the regional draft and training for the national team. He also played as a 17-year old for Alingsås IF, who qualified to the highest regional league in Western Sweden. Linn and his team qualified to the quarterfinals in the Gothia Cup in 2018, which is the world's largest soccer tournament for young people. He also won the Gothenburg Cup in 2017 and 2018, where he was the captain and scored the most goals in the tournament.

Reiss Skeen | Midfielder | Kent, England | Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys
Before Saint Peter's: Richens digs into his English pipeline to bring over Midfielder Reiss Skeen for 2022. Skeen and his team were runner-ups in the Schools National Futsal Finals last year. He also won the Kent Youth League Cup and Presidents Cup his senior year.

Tim Strele | Forward | Fort Lee, New Jersey | Fort Lee
Before Saint Peter's: Strele makes the short trek from Fort Lee to Jersey City to play for the Peacocks. At Fort Lee, he was named to First Team All-Conference, Fort Lee MVP, Top Goalscorer in the Big North, and garnered All-County Honors and All-State Honors.

Lex Vaughan | Midfielder | Southampton, England | Barton Peveril College
Before Saint Peter's: Vaughan joins Skeen at Saint Peter's from England for the 2022 campaign. He played for Winchester City in the Hampshire County College League.
