HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's University Cross Country teams kicked off the 2022 campaign on Friday by participating in the Hofstra XC Invite.
The leaders of the day on both the women's and men's side, Shelby Piccinic and Michael Conover, finished in 6th place during the 5K meet.

The day started with the women's 5K, where the aforementioned Piccinic took sixth place out of 15 competitors with a time of 20:18.90, which was good for 6:32/M.

Kaylah Davis and Diamond McLaughlin were the next two finishers on the women's side for the Peacocks, placing ninth and tenth respectively. Davis finished with a time of 24:04.20 (7:45/M) while McLaughlin finished with a time of 24:13.30 (7:48/M).

Anja Jennings and Karilyn Jimenez followed, finishing 11th and 12th. Jennings' time of 25:05.70 was good for a pace of 8:05/M and Jimenez's time of 25:31.40 was good for a pace of 8:13/M.

Ka'Rynn Hill (27:27.80; 8:50/M), Alexus Smith (29:36.10; 9:32/M), and Nalanie Clement (32:14.10; 10:23/M) rounded out the field for the Peacocks.

The men's 5K then followed, with Michael Conover pacing the Peacocks with a time of 17:20.30. This pace was good for 5:35/M and earned Conover sixth place.

Clardo Nestor (18:02.10; 5:48/M) and Brendan Heaney (18:04.50; 5:49/M) followed in seventh and eighth place, respectively.

Senior David Szaro (18:34.10; 5:59/M; 9th place) and junior Devin Bembridge (19:34.60; 6:18/M; 10th place) followed, along with freshman Cashieve Blair (22:38.00; 7:17/M; 11th place).
