Women’s Soccer Returns to Jaroschak to Face Marist on Wednesday

The Kick Off

• The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team is back in action Wednesday, September 28, as the team looks to gain another win, this time versus Marist.
• The Peacocks are coming off a 3-0 loss against Rider this past Saturday.

History with the Red Foxes

• The Peacocks and the Red Foxes will meet for the 26th time Wednesday.

• Saint Peter's is 5-20 all-time against Marist.

• The Red foxes defeated the Peacocks 2-1 in their last matchup on September 16, 2021, in Poughkeepsie, NY. Sophomore defender Carlota Pastor Romero scored her first career goal in that contest.

Grassifulli named MAAC Rookie of the Week

• Freshman forward Gianna Grassifulli has been named the Bob McCloskey Insurance Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week starting Monday, September 19.
• Grassifulli recorded her first career goal in the second half of the Peacocks win over Iona on Saturday, September 17. The 51st-minute goal proved to be the winner in a 2-1 victory, as Saint Peter's won their MAAC opener for the first time since 2018.
• A freshman from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Grassifulli has played in all nine contests for Saint Peter's and started in one. She is tied for second on the team in points and has recorded three shots so far this season.

Freshman Frenzy

• Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Mackethan has registered 32 saves through seven games.
• Hailing from Boyertown, PA, she has been one of the bright spots for the Peacocks so far this season, starting in all but one game and claiming the #1 keeper spot.
• She was named August Peacock of the month on Thursday, September 1.
• Freshman Xochilt Turijan scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Hampton on Wednesday, August 31.
• Freshman forward Taylor Moyer has two assists on the season.
• Grassifulli netted her first career goal against Iona on Saturday, September 17.
• Freshman forward Alyssa Hackett has one assist this year.
