Women’s Soccer Hosts Niagara on Saturday

The Kick Off

• The Saint Peter's University women's soccer team is back in action Saturday, October 1, as the team looks to gain another win, this time versus Niagara.
• The Peacocks are coming off a 1-0 win against Marist this past Wednesday. Freshman forward Alyssa Hackett scored her first career goal, while freshman forward Gianna Grassifulli and freshman defender Samantha Garcia provided the assists.

History with the Purple Eagles

• The Peacocks and the Purple Eagles will meet for the 29th time on Saturday.
• Saint Peter's is 6-22 all-time against Niagara.
• The Purple Eagles defeated the Peacocks 4-1 in their last matchup on September 19, 2021 in Niagara, NY.

Red Alert

• Saint Peter's defeated Marist for only the sixth time in school history on Wednesday.
• The Peacocks are off to their best start in conference play since 1998, when they also started MAAC play 2-1.
• Reaching three wins already this year, they have already matched their win total from the last two seasons combined.
• The Peacocks haven't won four games in a season since 2009.

Freshman Frenzy

• Freshman goalkeeper Olivia Mackethan has registered 32 saves through seven games and two clean sheets.
• Freshman forward Xochilt Turijan scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win over Hampton on Wednesday, August 31.
• Freshman forward Taylor Moyer has two assists on the season.
• Grassifulli netted her first career goal against Iona on Saturday, September 17. She also has an assist.
• Hackett has one goal and one assist this year.
