LOUNDONVILLE, N.Y.- The Saint Peter's University softball team fell in a doubleheader to Siena College as the Peacocks opened Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. The Saints took the opener 3-0 and won the nightcap 5-0.
The Peacocks fall to 16-9 and 0-2 in the MAAC, while the Saints improve to 16-8 and 2-0 in conference play.
In the opener, Saint Peter's was limited to two hits on a single by graduate
Katie Sciglimpaglia (Norwalk, Conn.) and a double by graduate
Anja Solveig Kane (Manchester Township, N.J.).
Graduate
Sydney Senerchia (Northford, Conn.) tossed a complete game, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out one.
The Peacocks registered three singles in the nightcap by sophomore
Dakota Pitts (Abingdon, Md.), freshman
Tai Turner (Havre De Grace, Md.) and junior
Kaitlynn Peters (Drums, Pa.).
Freshman
Sydney Palmer (Fellsmere, Fla.) turned in a complete game effort, allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits, striking out one.
The Peacocks travel to Coppin State University for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 5 at 3 pm.
