EMMITSBURG, Md.- Saint Peter's University men's track and field freshman
Cashieve Blair set the conference record in the 400-meter dash, while women's track and field junior
Abigail Vital won the 100-meter hurdles event as the Peacocks competed at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships May 7-8.
The men's team finished the championships in fifth place, while the women took fourth place. In addition to Blair and Vital's wins, r-junior
Michael Ilesanmi took first place in the long jump, while the women's 4x100-meter relay team won their event as well.
Blair, who was named the MAAC Track Rookie of the Meet, won the 400-meter dash with a conference record time of 47.58, eclipsing the previous mark by .18 seconds (47.76 in 2015). He also took third place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.30.
Sophomore
Bayyan Dallas finished in fourth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.26, while junior
Delano Gooden claimed seventh in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.15.
R-Senior
Clardo Nestor came in second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:51.03, while freshman
Malique Jackson placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.11.
In the 4x100-meter relay, the quartet of Blair, Gooden, freshman
Amari Campbell and
Judeson Mirac finished in second place with a time of 41.66. Saint Peter's 4x400-meter relay team of Jackson, Blair, junior
Fiyin Amori and Dallas took fourth place with a time of 3:23.45. In the 4x800-meter relay, senior

Elijah Kiboma and Nestor placed seventh with a time of 7:56.33.
Ilesanmi won the long jump with a distance of 7.38 meters, while
Campbell finished in second place with a jump of 7.25 meters.
Amori came in sixth place in the triple jump with a distance of 13.54 meters.
Senior
Ibrahim Seidou-Bakari placed third in the shot put with a distance of 14.64 meters, while freshman
Frankie Gonzalez finished fifth in the shot put with a throw of 14.23 meters.
Senior
Dylan Powell came in third place in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.96 meters, while Seidou-Bakari took fifth place with a distance of 50.84 meters.
On the women's side, Vital won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.09, while finishing third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.86.
Saint Peter's had three women finish in the top-five in the 100-meter dash, led by senior
Vernetta Gosier who finished third with a time of 12.27. Freshman
Sanai Bryant came in fourth place with a time of 12.35, while junior
Aaliyah Vandergrift took fifth with a time of 12.38.
Gosier came in fourth place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.24.
Sophomore
Diamond McLaughlin placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.43, while posting a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.53.
Sophomore
Balikis Iyiola took fifth place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.18, while
Junior
Mikell Dolo placed seventh with a time of 15.62.
Senior
Shelby Piccinic finished in eighth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:42.88.
In the 4x100-meter relay, the quartet of Bryant, Gosier, Vital and Vandergrift won the event with a time of 46.74. the 4x400-meter relay team of Gosier, Vital, Vandergrift and McLaughlin took sixth place with a time of 4:05.75.
Junior
Aaliyah Booker came in sixth place in the pole vault with a height 3.20 meters.
R-senior
Lorretta Owoh placed third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.52 meters.
Freshman
Ciara Brown finished in sixth place in the discus with a distance of 35.41 meters, while taking eighth in the shot put with a distance of 11.59 meters.
