Fordham Held Off Late Rally From Saint Peter's

Box Score Bronx, N.Y.- Saint Peter's Baseball lost to Fordham University, 13-8, at Houlihan Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Game Notes

• Saint Peter's had an early lead that slipped away, and Fordham was in control for most of the game.  
• The Peacocks threatened a comeback in the last two innings, but the deficit turned out to be too sizable.
• In the first inning, Saint Peter's jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Tyler Smith was hit by a pitch that forced in a run and Ashby Vining had an RBI.  
• Fordham trailed 3-0 and eventually scored five unanswered runs between the second inning and third inning.  
• The game unraveled for the Peacocks in the seventh when Fordham scored eight runs off five hits.
• In the top of the eighth, Saint Peter's cut into the deficit with five runs scored. Three of the five runs scored were walks.  
• With the loss, the Peacocks dropped to 2-6 on the season.

Saint Peter's will be playing a three-game series against Norfolk State University from Friday, March 1 to Sunday, March 3.
