STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Saint Peter's Track & Field team competed in the Metropolitan Championships at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island on Friday. The Saint Peter's Men's Track & Field team placed fifth overall and the Saint Peter's Women's Track & Field team placed tenth.
Clardo Nestor won the men's 500 meter. Nestor completed the race in 1:05.20. SPU freshman Connor Ziolkowski finished the men's 500 meter in fourth at 1:05.92.
The Peacocks had three top-ten finishes in the men's 200 meter. SPU Cashieve Blair placed second with a time of 21.78 followed by Delano Gooden in ninth (22.40) and Judeson Mirac in tenth (22.52). Additionally, Blair placed second in the men's 60M final (6.94) and fourth in the men's 400m (49.97). In the men's 4X400 relay a group of Nestor, Ziolkowski, Blair, and Malique Jackson placed third (3:21.45). Amari Campbell placed third in the men's long jump (6.81M)
On the women's side, Abigail Vital placed second in the women's 60 hurdles (8.99) and tenth in the women's 200m (26.09). In the women's 4X200 relay Vital, Alexus Smith, Ziasia Glasco, and Mikayla Surles placed third with a time of 1:45:06.
