BROOKLYN, NY. - The Saint Peter's Softball team dropped its doubleheader at LIU Brooklyn (12-11) on Thursday. The Peacocks are 8-10 this season.

Game 1: LIU Brooklyn - 2 | Saint Peter's - 0
Saint Peter's Morgan Lipansky pitched six innings and gave up one hit in the contest. The Peacocks had four hits in the game. Sydney Orndorff, Jess Forte, and Taylor Montgomery each tallied a single, and Kaitlynn Peters went 1-3 with a double.
The Sharks scored in the bottom of the second inning. Devon Medina brought in a run with a sacrifice fly. LIU's Kaylee Clarkson hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth in for LIU's second run. The Shark's lone hit was a double from Mari Narvaiz.
Game 2: LIU Brooklyn - 7 | Saint Peter's - 2
Forte went 2-3 with one run scored, and one RBI. Saint Peter's freshman Zailees Seda went 1-3 with one run scored and one RBI. LIU scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first. In the top of the second Seda hit her first career home run to left field and the game was tied 1-1.
The Sharks added four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. LIU's Emma Niece hit an RBI double followed by a two-RBI triple from Dallas Andrews. The Sharks tacked on one more run in the inning and led 5-1.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Niece hit a two-RBI double to left center field. The LIU outfielder finished the game 3-3 with one run scored and three RBIs.
The Peacocks scored one more run in the top of the seventh inning. Forte hit her third home run of the year. Forte is tied with Cara McNulty and Dakota Pitts for the team lead in home runs this season.
Next, the Peacocks travel to in-state rival Rider (5-11) for a doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 23.
