EDISON, NJ – After back-to-back impressive performances in his collegiate indoor debut at FDU's Knight's Midweek Clash and the Armory Collegiate Distance Carnival, freshman
Brian Yeager has been named the first Jersey Mike's MAAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week of the 2025-26 season, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Wilmington, Delaware native impressed in both of his opening-week races. On Wednesday at FDU, Yeager placed fourth (36.46) in a Peacock-dominated 300m, where Saint Peter's swept the top seven spots.
He carried that momentum into Friday's meet at the Armory, capturing the team's lone gold medal with a commanding victory in the 800m. Yeager averaged 28-second splits en route to a winning time of 1:55.11, finishing 0.36 ahead of Albany's Connor Hashim.
The honor marks Yeager's first career MAAC weekly award and the first Men's Track Athlete of the Week selection for Saint Peter's this season.
Saint Peter's will have a month-long break before returning to action on January 9 at TCNJ's Lions Indoor Invitational, hosted at the 168th Street Armory in New York. The first gun is set for 10 a.m.
