NEW YORK, NY– The Saint Peter's track and field team wrapped up competition on day two of the 2025 MAAC Championships.
Women's Highlights
Diamond McLaughlin earned a place on the podium, finishing third in the 400m with a time of 56.82—0.55 seconds faster than her preliminary time (57.37). McLaughlin was neck and neck with Rider senior Hailey Palmer, who claimed silver with a time of 56.68. Quinnipiac senior Kylie Smith defended her MAAC title and set a new MAAC record, running under 55 seconds (54.32). McLaughlin's finish added six points to Saint Peter's team total.
Ciara Brown placed eighth in the shot put, throwing a distance of 11.71m. Rider's Chika Efobi, last year's MAAC outdoor champion, took first with a mark of 12.72m. Sacred Heart's freshmen Caroline Herlihy (12.47m) and Elena Chaplin (12.31m) rounded out the podium. Alyana Meador (10.56m) and Kennedy Vaughn (10.46m) also represented Saint Peter's in the event. Brown added one point to the team total.
Mount St. Mary's claimed the top two spots in the triple jump, with junior Madelyn Valpy winning gold (12.35m) and Jovana Miloradovic taking silver (11.82m). Sacred Heart's Annalise Nassy (11.51m) secured bronze on her final attempt. Adriana Rollins finished in the top 20 with a jump of 10.69m, while McKenzie Johnson recorded 10.15m for the Peacocks.
The women's 4x400m relay squad of Karilynn Jimenez, McLaughlin, Shania McDuffie, and Rollins placed third in section one and seventh overall with a time of 3:59.93 (Leg Splits: 1:00.769 | 59.08 | 59.91 |1:00.19). Quinnipiac set a new MAAC record en route to gold (3:45.62), followed by Rider (3:53.21) and Merrimack (3:54.47). The Peacocks' performance added two more points to the team total.
Men's Highlights
Cashieve Blair brought the MAAC 60m title back to Jersey City, blazing to first place with a time of 6.79. Just behind him, Delano Gooden claimed silver in 6.81. In his MAAC Championship debut, Dylan Williams clocked 7.04. Mount St. Mary's Abdoulaye Bah rounded out the podium (6.86). The duo added 18 points to Saint Peter's total.
Hensley Jean Baptiste finished second in section one of the 400m finals with an indoor personal-best 49.44, placing sixth overall. The top three finishers all broke 49 seconds, led by Marist freshman Ryan Trocolar, who set a new PR, school record, and claimed gold in 48.66. Sacred Heart's Lance Hayes (48.74) and Marist's Easton Eberwein (48.96) completed the podium. Baptiste contributed three points to the men's total.
Blair doubled up on gold, from the start of the gun he quickly moved into first and never looked back, winning the 200m in 21.36 -- 0.07 seconds faster than his preliminary time. This mark set a new indoor personal best for the junior. Rider's Steven Bado won section one and took silver (21.48), while Mount St. Mary's Abdoulaye Bah (21.50) finished behind Blair in section two and rounds out the podium in third place. Gooden finished third in a tight section one race (21.64) and placed sixth overall. The duo tacked on 14 more points to Saint Peter's total.
Heat three of the 3000m was highly competitive, producing all three podium finishers. Iona's Tadhg Donnelly took gold (8:02.40), with teammate Lachlan Wellington earning silver (8:02.99). Siena's Killian McNamee secured bronze in 8:05.01. Gerardo Quaglia (9:22.58) and Brendan Heaney (9:45.42) represented the Peacocks.
Sacred Heart's Aidan Glennon won the shot put with a personal-best 16.07m. Rider's Jayden DuBard placed second (15.85m), while Manhattan's Paul Brennan took third (15.21m). Derek Garcia represented Saint Peter's, recording a mark of 9.76m.
The Distance Medley Relay (DMR) podium finishing teams secured spots on the 2025 NCAA Indoor Top 100 list. Marist took gold in 10:05.75 (No. 69), followed by Iona (10:06.93, No. 70) and Rider (10:22.69, No. 96). The Peacocks' team of Quaglia, Malique Jackson, Michael Amaker, and Heaney finished in 11:09.64. (Splits: 1200m – 3:30.88 | 400m – 51.64 | 800m – 2:02.46 | 1600m – 4:44.67).

Saint Peter's final event of the night was the 4x400m relay, featuring Jean Baptiste, Connor Ziolkowski, Amaker, and Ajani Peck-Wekunda. The squad placed fifth overall in 3:20.04. (Splits: 50.22 | 50.20 | 50.48 | 49.15). Rider took gold (3:16.29), with Marist (3:17.09) and Mount St. Mary's (3:17.46) rounding out the podium. The event added four more points to SPU's total.
2025 MAAC Champions
Rider swept the MAAC Championships once again, winning the women's title with 142 points and the men's with 148.5, securing their third consecutive championship on both sides.
Quinnipiac finished runner-up in the women's standings with 135 points, followed by Sacred Heart (124.5). Saint Peter's finished 11th with nine points. On the men's side, Iona finished second (111 points), and Mount St. Mary's took third (99.25). The Peacocks placed eighth with 44 points.
