JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's women's soccer team opens MAAC play on Saturday, September 6, when it hosts Niagara at Jaroschak Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 p.m.
The Peacocks closed out August with a 3-1-2 record, scoring nine goals while conceding only five. Eight different players have found the back of the net, led by Julia Pinho Magno with two goals. Stella Accettola paces the squad with two assists, while goalkeeper Bergljot Kristinsdottir has posted 25 saves, two clean sheets, and an .833 save percentage through six starts.
ABOUT THE PURPLE EAGLES
Niagara (3-1) opened the season with three straight victories, including a 2-1 win over Syracuse, before falling 2-0 to Buffalo on Wednesday night. The Purple Eagles have scored seven goals through their first four matches, led by sophomore forward Caitlyn Gratton, who has tallied four goals with an impressive .750 shot percentage. In net, goalkeeper Julia Poissant has started all four matches, recording 19 saves, one shutout, and an .826 save percentage. Niagara is led by first-year head coach Donny George.

12 MAAC programs kick off conference play on Saturday. Fairfield enters conference action with the best non-conference record at 5-1, riding a four-game win streak. Niagara sits at 3-1, while Saint Peter's follows closely at 3-1-2. Siena (2-1-3) and Manhattan (1-1-4) both carry three-match tie streaks into MAAC play, while Quinnipiac(0-3-1), Canisius and Marist look to earn their first victories of the year.
