NEW YORK, NY– The Saint Peter's track and field programs opened the 2026 calendar year Friday morning at TCNJ's Lions Indoor Invitational, combining for five podium finishes, highlighted by two golds and a silver from the field team.
TRACK EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
In the men's 60m,
Ameen Zubair and
Neo Clark-Tabb advanced to the finals after finishing first and second in prelims, with Zubair posting the only sub-7 time at 6.96 (PR) during prelims. Zubair followed with another PR in the finals, clocking 6.92 to finish just .02 behind Central Connecticut's Tristan Burke, while Clark-Tabb placed fourth in 7.08.
Cashieve Blair secured the first gold of the day for the Peacocks, blazing to victory in the men's 300m in 33.79, shaving nearly a second off his previous best.
Favour Owolabi followed in fifth, also setting a personal record at 34.99.
Brian Yeager was the highest-placed Peacock in the 500m, securing a fifth-place finish in the 24-athlete event, with a new personal best of 1:05.50.
Michael Amaker missed the top ten by just .23 seconds, finishing 12th with a PR of 1:06.72, with
Ajani Peck-Wekunda rounding out the event for Saint Peter's in 1:07.84.
Malique Jackson and
Dylan Williams both secured top 15 placements in the 200m, with Jackson claiming fifth in 22.80 and Williams 14th (23.36).
Both the men's and women's 4x4 relay teams secured top-five finishes. The men's race featured a highly competitive field, with the top three teams landing on the
2026 DI Indoor Top 100 list and the top two also earning spots on the
2026 NCAA Indoor Top 100 list. The quartet of Owolabi, Williams, Amaker, and Yeager shaved more than two and a half seconds off the team's season best, finishing fourth in 3:22.98.
The women's 4x4 made its season debut, placing fifth in 4:18.24.
FIELD EVENT HIGHLIGHTS
Amari Campbell dominated the men's long jump, being the only competitor to land over seven meters. Campbell hit a mark of 7.18m, landing himself on both the
2026 NCAA Indoor Top 100 at #57 and the
2026 DI Indoor Top 100 at #37.
Adriana Rollins hit a new personal best in the women's triple jump, securing her highest placement in the event to date, with a mark of 11.20 for silver, just .1m off from first.
McKenzie Johnson finished in the top ten, claiming eighth overall with a mark of 10.14m.
In the women's weight throw,
Ciara Brown just missed the podium by centimeters, finishing fourth with a distance of 13.92m.
Alyana Meador finished ninth overall in 9.36m.
Brown took home the final gold of the day for Saint Peter's, dominating the shot put field by over .30m, landing a distance of 11.49m. Meador placed sixth overall with a mark of 10.02m.
