Saint Peter’s To Close Out Regular Season At Marist On ESPNU

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Saint Peter's men's basketball team (16-11, 13-6 MAAC) closes out the regular season against Marist (18-10, 12-7) on Sunday at McCann Arena at 2 p.m. ET. This is the Peacocks' second game televised on ESPNU this season.

Coming off a big win over Manhattan, the Peacocks are determined to keep things going on Sunday with hopes of clinching the No. 2-seed in the MAAC Tournament. With a win over Marist or a Siena loss to Rider, Saint Peter's locks up the second spot. If the Peacocks were to lose and Siena were to win, Saint Peter's would be the No. 3-seed in the MAAC Tournament.

The last time these two teams met was back on Jan. 2, when the Peacocks won 69-59. Zaakir Williamson led the charge with 13 points and six rebounds while Eric Morgan Jr. and Bryce Eaton also had solid showings, combining for 23 points.

ABOUT THE MARIST RED FOXES
The Red Foxes are currently on a two-game winning streak after taking down Manhattan on the road and Sacred Heart at home. Their last game played was on Sunday, Feb. 22, so they are coming into this matchup with a week of rest. Marist sits third in the MAAC, tied with Siena.

Marist showcases three players averaging double-digit points this season in Justin Menard, Elijah Lewis and Rhyjon Blackwell. Each member of the trio is putting up about 12 points a night, while Menard and Jaden Collins-Roberts lead the team in assists. Lewis went down with an injury against Fairfield on Feb. 7 and has not returned.

Marist is coached by John Dunne, who is in his eighth season as head coach of the Red Foxes.

NOTES
The Peacocks are 41-28 all-time vs. the Red Foxes and 15-15 against them on the road...Saint Peter's outrebounded Marist 44-to-35 in the first matchup.
