BOSTON, MASS. — The Saint Peter's track and field programs ended on a high note on day two of the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon. Senior
Cashieve Blair blazed to a gold finish in the 500m, while freshman
Lourdes Lawson broke the 13-meter barrier in the shot put, becoming just the second Peacock in program history to do so.
Rhode Island claimed the men's team title with a score of 146, followed by St. Joseph's (Pa.) (78) and Brown (72), while Brown secured the women's championship with 136.5 points, ahead of Boston University (127.5) and UMass Amherst (96). The Saint Peter's men finished 15th out of 20 teams, while the women placed 19th overall.
RESULTS
Lourdes Lawson opened the day in the shot put, narrowly missing the podium with a fourth-place finish in a field of 17 athletes. The top four were the only competitors to surpass 13 meters. Lawson threw more than two feet past the personal best she set just last weekend at the Metropolitan Championships and finished just one foot shy of the program record (13.09m), landing a mark of 13.05m. Boston University swept the top three spots with Ellie Roan (14.32m), Kiana Lino (13.64m), and Uchenna Uba (13.28m).
The 60m hurdles preliminaries were fast, with the top nine final qualifiers clocking under nine seconds. Fordham's Kylie Ritz claimed the top spot in 8.67, followed by Brown's Simone Dunbar (8.68) and Vermont's Ryleigh Garrow (8.80).
Adriana Rollins completed the event in 9.45.
Cashieve Blair secured the only medal of the day and the Peacocks' lone gold of the weekend, blazing to a 1:03.67 in the 500m. He slashed over a second off the team's season-best time and nearly a second from his personal best. His time ranks third all-time in program history.
Ajani Peck-Wekunda and
Connor Ziolkowski also competed in the event, clocking 1:05.66 and 1:06.52, respectively.
The men's 4x4 quartet of Peck-Wekunda, Blair, Ziolkowski, and
Brian Yeager closed out the meet for Saint Peter's, finishing 10th in 3:16.19. St. Joseph's (Pa.) claimed gold in 3:12.10, followed by Coppin State (3:13.69) and Sacred Heart (3:14.06), ranking #88 on Athletic.net's 2026 DI Indoor Top 100 list.
